The Teeing Off on Cancer
Golf Classic is a scramble format and is designed for fun. The
definition of a Scramble is pretty simple, it's one of the primary
forms of tournament play for golf associations, charity events and
the like. A scramble is usually played with 4-person teams, but
2-person scrambles are popular, too. At a 2-person scramble,
handicaps are usually applied; at a 4-person scramble, handicaps are
usually not applied.
In a scramble, each player tees off on
each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players
play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots
is determined, then all play their third shots fro m that spot, and
so on until the ball is holed. The following rules apply: Scramble Rules
- This event is a four-ball scramble
- All players may hit every shot
- Each player must place their ball within one club
length of the selected shot, no nearer to the hole. Your ball
must remain in the same area of the course as the selected ball.
That is, a ball in the fairway, rough, fringe or hazard must
remain in that condition.
- On the green you must place the ball within one club-head
length of the original spot, no nearer to the hole.
- Ties will be broken by matching cards as recommended by the
USGA on page 124 of the rule book. If that fails to break the
tie, cards will be matched from hole #1 forward.

missed your first putt. The first ball in must count. Mark your
