Pat Swan - In the past 12 months, Swan recorded his 500th career coaching victory with the Shen girls program, won a Section II Class AA title, was named as the Basketball Coaches Association of New York Girls High School co-Coach of the Year and was named the Women's Basketball Coaches Association District II Coach of the Year along with being named an assistant coach at the WBA All-American Game in Tampa, Fla. His hot hand continues, as Swan will be part of the next class of inductees into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in Glens Falls in March. "It's crazy. Who would have ever thought it?" Swan said with a chuckle. "When you think about it, it doesn't seem like I've coached for 29 years, 33 if you count my very first coaching experience in Colonie, and as an assistant with (Shenendehowa's) Jim Zullo. It has been so much fun that it's all a blur." |

Mike Deane - In 23 years as a head college basketball coach, Mike Deane is in the process of leaving a legacy in the game few can match. He has led eight different teams to 20-plus win seasons, has guided five teams to the NCAA Tournament and another four to the NIT, including one that reached the semifinals at Madison Square Garden. Three of his teams have won 25 games. He now stands on the precipice of a career milestone. With 394 wins, he is seven victories away from becoming just the 28th active coach Division I coach to win 400 games. He is already one of just 13 active coaches (and one of just 28 coaches in NCAA history) to have led three different teams (Siena, Marquette, Lamar) to the "Big Dance." |

He was also involved in player evaluation, opponent scouting, and game-plan preparation. Bennett performed the duties of head coach, while Marianna Freeman was an assistant to the USA World Championship Team from Aug. 27 to Sept, 26, 2002. Before Syracuse, Bennett was an assistant at Temple for two seasons and an assistant coach at his alma mater, Springfield College.
